Explore Green NYC

Started as a personal project, a way for me to slow down and truly explore a city I’ve called home for years.
Many people see New York as only streets, buildings, and noise. But as I spent more time walking, riding trains, and sometimes getting lost, I started to notice how much of the city we miss. Outside the usual paths, there are parks, trails, quiet spots, and places that make you forget you’re still in New York.
I made this site to keep a record of what I find. It’s where I share the places I visit, the things I experience, and the small moments that make exploring special. Sometimes it’s a long walk to a dam, other times it’s a quiet trail or a view that makes me pause longer than I expected.
Explore Green NYC isn’t about rushing or trying to visit every place. It’s about seeing the city in a new way, taking your time, staying curious, and remembering that New York is bigger than we often realize.
If this site encourages you to go outside, take a train to a new place, or explore a part of the city you haven’t seen before, then it’s doing what I hoped it would.
